YOGA STYLES

Akhanda Yoga

Akhanda means “whole”, which refers to the approach and techniques it brings to the practice.  A well-rounded and balanced style, classes begin with a theme and mantra and end with meditation and mantra.

All Levels Vinyasa

Vinyasa is a creative, flowing yoga experience.  Based on the Sun Salutation, we move and stretch the whole body, while exploring the integration of mind, body and spirit.  While some yoga experience is helpful, a willing heart is all that’s needed.

Ashtanga Vinyasa

Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga is a vigorous practice consisting of several series of postures. This class will introduce the Standing, Finishing and Primary series. Postures will be presented in sequence, beginning with more basic postures in the first weeks and progressing to more challenging postures towards the end of the 8 week course. Students will ! and will build endurance.

Hatha Yoga

Our classical Hatha Yoga classes strengthen the body and still the mind by interweaving postures, visualizations & breath. Feel rejuvenated and restored. Suitable for all levels and ability. 

Kundalini Yoga (as taught by Yogi Bhajan)

The yoga of awareness, the householders’ yoga.  Kept secret for thousands of years, Yogi Bhajan brought it to the West in 1969.  Use breath, mantra, posture, mudra (hand positions), and eye focus to balance body, mind and spirit to reach your highest potential.

Meditation

Quieting the mind to release stress, anxiety and to awaken one’s inner teacher.  Come and explore your inner world in a relaxed and safe environment.  Warm up and movement, pranayama (breathing techniques) and guided meditation.

Pre-Natal

Birth from within, increase mind/body awareness and connection with baby to prepare for the birthing process.  Deepen your experience and enjoyment of pregnancy and enhance postnatal recovery.  Gentle postures, breathwork, relaxation and meditation used to increase flexibility, calm and confidence.  No previous experience necessary, beneficial at any stage of pregnancy.  Registration required.

Post-Natal

For new moms with babies under 6 months.  This class is a great place to connect with other moms, socialize babies and discuss all the things that go along with motherhood.  Registration required, minimum 5 duo’s to run.

Power Yoga

A fluid moving yoga class designed to increase your strength,stamina, and flexibility. Enjoy the benefits of yoga and a great workout.

Restorative

Focuses on relaxing the body in restful postures. Rest provides the body an  opportunity to renew and heal.  Great for injury recovery and back pain.

Flow/Slow Flow Vinyasa

Moving with more attention to detail and with more modifications offered, these classes are great for building your practice and your confidence.  Suitable for older, less fit and recovering bodies, but also a great reminder for those with more experience.

Yin Yoga

Physically and mentally, Yin Yoga is a completely different system of yoga.  Practiced mostly seated, we hold the poses for 3 tp 8 minutes.  Targeting the hard tissue of body, rather than the muscles, we can greatly increase flexibility and mobility, improving the health of the connective tissue.  As we hold the poses, the body becomes uncomfortable and the mind wanders.  As we learn to manage this stress on our mats, we can strengthen our ability to manage daily our stresses.

Young Yogi’s (Ages 9 – 13)

By far the most popular youth yoga class!  Learn yoga poses that connect the mind and body.  Explore yogic games, music, relaxation and meditation.  Always connecting to our “inner teacher”.  Minimum 5 children to run.

Yoga for Youth (Ages 14 – 17)

For youth interested in yoga but aren’t ready to join the adult classes yet.  Learn how to positively manage stress and listen to your intuition.  Minimum 5 students to run.

Yoga Fusion

Various Hatha-based yoga styles are combined in one class or one session.  Get a little taste of everything! Perfect for beginners not knowing which type of Hatha they will enjoy, or for those curious to try different types in the same session.

Zumba

The Zumba program is a latin-inspired, dance fitness class that incorporates latin and international music and dance movements. It’s a Zumba fitness party!

 

All classes on the weekly schedule are covered on your passes and memberships.
